Live Learn & Let Go Workshop: Life skills for Mindful Forgiveness
*Individual Sessions available by appointment. See schedule or contact me.
* If the current schedule doesn't quite align with your needs, or if you're interested in setting up your own group, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Your comfort and convenience are important, and I'm more than happy to accommodate your preferences.
The workshop is valued at $325. I provide a sliding scale cost, meaning, pay what feels good/accessible for you between $150-$325.
The reason for the large range of a sliding scale is to help make this work more accessible. Especially during this time, I know everyone is being affected by their own personal challenges. I believe in the value of this work and my mission is to make it accessible and available to as many people as possible. This is one way to do that. I ask that if you are in a position of privilege or have the resources, that you consider donating extra to help someone else at this time. Of course, no proof of income or any of that is required. Ultimately, you decide what you can offer in exchange for this space ♡
Payment plans are available and if the cost is a real barrier. Just let me know.
Payments can be made through Venmo @mindfulmentoringandcoaching or Paypal to myra@mindfulmentoringandcoaching.com
Live Learn & Let Go Overview
S1
Group introduction and expectations. Discussion of what forgiveness is and what it is not. Discussion on the health benefits of choosing to Forgive. The writing and sharing of a grievance story: gain clarity around exactly what happened and what is causing pain and overwhelming emotions.
S2
Recognizing the connection between grief and forgiveness and the difference between complaints and grievances. Gain an understanding that one of our coping mechanisms when we are wronged is to form revenge fantasies. It is a way of creating a sense of our own power and to mobilize our resources for future action
S3
Most of us interpret our hurt in highly personal terms. Generally, our most painful memory is related to the personal betray we feel. However, there are some aspects to our grievance that had nothing to do with us. Discussion on the impersonal side of our grievance story. Introduction to stress reduction which brings down the stress reaction, improving cognitive function and greater clarity.
S4
The root of our suffering is our thinking and caused by our Unenforceable Rules. Unenforceable Rules are expectations or demands that we think we are entitled to but that we have no real power to make happen. Learn the 6 steps to challenge your unenforceable rules.
S5
The focus is on the “Positive Intention.” When we find the positive motive that drove our behavior just prior to being hurt, we will know our positive intention which leads to understanding of self-forgiveness. This allows us to have more self-compassion. When we soften up to ourselves, we can soften up on others. Learning PERT (Positive Emotion Refocusing Technique)
S6
It is now time to transition our grievance story into a Forgiveness Story. The story we tell becomes our truth, so we can ultimately decide whether we live a life filled with love and compassion, liberated by forgiveness, or whether we remain angry and bitter, enslaved by the grievances in our past.
S7
Continue the work of letting go after this workshop is over. Learn Dr. Luskin's HEAL method of Hope, Education, Affirmation, & Long-Term. As more positive experiences come to you, your hurts diminish as gratitude & your skill set evolves.
Participants would need:
to know how to use zoom on their phone, tablet or computer (I can assist before class begins by appointment); and would need to handle information shared by participants in the group with the strictest levels of confidentiality. It is our policy to keep your personal matters confidential to the extent permitted by law.
